Patchwork Exhibition, Italy
Patchbox was an exhibition conceived by Elsewhere Factory where one-of-a-kind digital prints of various artists' work where produced in order to create a discussion around traditional ways of exposition and the current state of the art market. With a cash and carry model, the public collaborated in the constant change of the exhibition. Once purchased, spaces where left empty for 48 hours where prints previously hung, after which a new artwork would replaced it.
Rather than submitting digital images of scanned flat work, I decided to send photographs of three framed and finished cut paper works, further exaggerating the concept of one-off digital art prints. Once bought, the print could be hung or adhered directly to the wall and have the illusion of a framed, original artwork on display.
Thanks to Brian Guido for photographing the work.
